Watch Alice in Chains cover Soundgarden in honor of Chris Cornell

Watch Alice in Chains cover Soundgarden in honor of Chris Cornell

ABC/Randy HolmesAlice in Chains played Ohio’s Rock on the Range festival last Friday on what was the one-year anniversary of Chris Cornell‘s death. To mark the occasion, the grunge rockers ended their set with two Soundgarden covers, “Hunted Down” and “Boot Camp.”

Fan-recorded footage of the performances was posted to social media.

Additionally, Tool dedicated their headlining set at Rock on the Range Sunday to Cornell, according to AlternativeNation.net.

Soundgarden was supposed to headline last year’s Rock on the Range, which was held the weekend after Cornell’s death. Instead, the festival held a “special tribute” to the grunge icon.

The Offspring hoping to release new album, featuring “Coming for You,” in the fall

The Offspring hoping to release new album, featuring “Coming for You,” in the fall

Mark Horton/Getty ImagesThe Offspring is currently working on a new album, the long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Days Go By. The 10th studio effort from the California punks will feature the band’s 2015 single “Coming for You,” guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman tells ABC Radio.

“‘Coming for You’ is one of the songs that’s gonna be on this record,” Noodles says. “I think that’s a pretty good [indication] of where to start, what the record’s gonna sound like.”

“But…we always throw a curve ball here and there,” he adds. “It’s fun for us to do, we think it keeps the fans interested to see what we’re gonna do next.”

As for when you’ll get to hear the rest of what the new album has to offer, Noodles says the band is “almost done” with the record.

“We’ve got about 10 to 12 songs either done or almost there,” he says. “We’re looking to put something out hopefully this fall.”

If you can’t wait that long for new Offspring music, the band is planning to play a track from the album during their summer tour with 311, which begins July 25 in Mountain View, California.

“We’ve got a song ready to go, we’re gonna take it out on tour,” Noodles says.
